The Georgia Tactical Officers Association exists to provide assistance to officers and agencies, within the state of Georgia, in the area of tactical operations research, development, and training. We are committed to those in the tactical community who risk their lives to protect human life and apprehend criminal offenders.

With support and commitment from our members as our foundation, we are driven to provide quality resources to the tactical community. It is our goal to research and develop innovative techniques and methods of operation related to tactical operations, and provide assistance in the development of training programs. By providing tactically significant information to special operations units and individuals we hope to aid the tactical community, and better prepare these individuals for the threats they may someday face.

To fulfill its mission, the Georgia Tactical Officers Association is dedicated to providing a professional organization for its members through effective training and information sharing

About our logo

The shield is the symbol of the Knight, Paladin the Protector. It symbolizes the “Protect” in Protect and Serve motto. As was stated by one great Spartan warrior, “the shield protects my brother on my left and also my city, I will never let my brother out of its shadow nor my city out of its shelter”.

The sword is the means by which the Protector serves. In today’s society, a Protector must take up arms to protect flock. The sword is the symbol of responsibility, power, loyalty, bravery and authority.

The three lightning bolts represent the principles of Speed, Surprise and Aggressiveness. These elements help the Protector to interrupt the decision-making process of the adversary and exploit the human reactive delay.

The Gold symbolizes the sunrise. The sunrise represents the fact that there is a tomorrow and that justice will prevail.
