Introduction to Methods of Entry

Instructor: John Cook

John Cook is a retired Lieutenant and Tactical Team Commander from the Polk County SO in Florida. For over 20 years he also worked as a tactical and breaching instructor for the US Department of State's Anti-terrorism Assistance Program. John has been a TEES instructor since 2002.

Class description

This 8-hour course will introduce the student to the theory and concept of mechanical, power tool, thermal, ballistic, hydraulic and explosive breaching. The advantages and disadvantages of each method will be explained as well liability and collateral issues. During the explosive breaching lecture, topics such as ATF & DOT regulations, target analysis and charge selection for doors and walls, blast pressure safety issues, safe stacking distances, and operational breachers will be covered.
