Bus Assault

  • Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (map)

Instructor: Jeff Taylor, Walton County Sheriff’s Office

Description:

This course provides law enforcement personnel with the knowledge, tactics, and operational considerations necessary to effectively respond to and resolve high-risk incidents involving buses. Emphasis is placed on the unique challenges associated with bus assaults, including limited access points, confined interior spaces, multiple-hostage considerations, and the potential for dynamic movement.

Students will be introduced to proven strategies for approaching, containing, and assaulting buses. Instruction includes team coordination, communication, breaching considerations, and the integration of specialized units such as SWAT and Crisis Negotiators.
