High Risk Warrant Service

  • Atlanta Public Schools 2352 Bagwell Drive Southwest Atlanta, GA, 30315 United States (map)

Instructor: David Kain, Social Circle Police Department

Description:

This course is designed to provide Law Enforcement Personnel with the knowledge, tactics, and considerations to effectively plan a High Risk Warrant Service.  Emphasis will be placed on the planning and execution of operational plans for arrest warrants that may not rise to the level of a SWAT operation.

Students will be presented with classroom instruction on all aspects of planning an operation.  Students will be afforded the opportunity to pressure test their operational plans and their room clearing tactics inside the walls of a simunition shoot house.  Students will have the opportunity to observe tactics from a catwalk to visualize best tactics and practices.  Our goal is to prepare Officers for the planning and execution of warrants in the ever changing dynamic environment that we encounter.

Equipment Needed:

  • Duty Gear or everyday wear equipment, vest, eye protection, Shields ( if agency provided), Duty weapons ( handguns and long guns).  All shoot house operations will be with empty and safe weapons.  No live fire or simunition fire.  The latter half of the day will be outside, bring water and snacks.
